- This laser is an overstock item we are clearing out of our .inventory. It was purchased for testing and evaluation for potential integration into one of our products approximately ~6 years ago. The number of hours on the unit is unknown, but as it never proceeded past the test phase it is likely no more than a couple thousand hours. This unit is fully functional and was not selected for integration due to its heat dissipation requirements. With the included OEM heatsink assembly the unit works great, but with a smaller custom assembly as we required it would be shut down by the built-in thermal protection circuitry. In the end this is not so surprising considering the numerous warnings that Coherent provides that adequate heat-sinking is essential. Images attached show the excellent laser stability and output power at or exceeding spec. We found warm-up time to be 5 minutes or less. Single-mode operation was tested using a measurement technique known as diffusing wave spectroscopy (DWS). Non-SLM operation results in a signal magnitude well under 1. Anything between 0.8 and 1.0 indicates long coherence. Additional testing with a Fabry Perot interferometer to further prove SLM operation can be performed but at customer's expense. The shipping costs are to be paid by the customer.
